Russell Westbrook’s Thoughts on Winning Scoring Title

Does it really mean anything?

Last night, the Oklahoma City Thunder were unsuccessful in landing the final spot of Western Conference playoffs. New Orleans would end cap-off their 2015 regular season campaign with an 8th seed clinching victory over the current world champion, San Antonio Spurs. Visibily frustrated with the season and missing his backcourt partner Kevin Durant on the floor, Westbrook spoke with reporters for the last time this off-season in a very depressed state of missing the post-season for only the second time in his career. Finishing the year with a career high in points-per-game at 28, a reporter asked him what it felt like to win his first ever scoring title.

Crook simply responded saying, “Shit, good job, hurray, I’m at home watching other teams play and it doesn’t mean nothing.” We’re happy he said this to give outsiders a look into his perspective of championship or bust – while some other stars in the league play for stats or accolades. With rumors of the team looking to part ways with head coach Scotty Brooks, OKC will start their off-season earlier than they have in recent years.
