RG3 may have broken ankle with latest injury woe

UPDATE: An MRI Monday morning has revealed no fracture in RGIII’s dislocated left ankle, but there is no specific word on when he will return.

Robert Griffin III may be missing significant time for the second consecutive season following his latest injury in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. After tearing ACL and LCL ligaments in his right knee in the 2012 season (that led to issues with elite productivity last season), RG3 suffered another setback injuring his left ankle on a scramble today.

The Washington Redskins played host to the Jaguars Sunday afternoon and suffered two crucial injuries from their best offensive players. DeSean Jackson was first to exit the game with a shoulder injury during the first half, while RG3 suffered a non-contact injury on his left ankle. RG3 was soon carted off the field and was ruled out immediately for the rest of this game.

RGIII addressed the media after the game and said it was unfortunate that he got injured on a non-contact play, but gave props to Kirk Cousins for stepping in for him and getting the Redskins the dominant win. He also revealed tests will be run tomorrow to see the severity of the injury, but early reports claim he suffered a dislocated ankle.

There is no word as to how long RGIII will be out, but we hope he makes a quick recovery.
