It’s time for a new age in the New York Knicks organization. Today, Phil Jackson was introduced as the President of Basketball of Operations for the Knickerbockers. This is Jackson’s first executive role in the NBA, after having one of the greatest coaching career’s in league history. This move is a solid one for the Knicks, who needed something like this in the front office, where they are seen as questionable by most around the league. Bringing on Jackson will now make the team a more stable place with the suits and hopefully take the franchise in the right direction.
Carmelo Anthony already shared his thoughts on the move by his bosses and as expected, he was in favor of it. Bringing on Jackson is just another tool that the Knicks will have in luring free agents to the roster and it will be very interesting to see how much control Jackson really has. Does this mean he will be fully in charge of picking the next coach of the team and decide to move on from Mike Woodson?
