In what may have been one of the more surprising moves of the free agency period, Paul Pierce is headed back home to re-join Doc Rivers in Los Angeles to be a member with the Clippers. The deal is a reported $10.6 million dollar deal that will span 3 years.
Although he had a great season in Washington with the Wizard last season as the veteran presence in the young locker room, ultimately, Coach Rivers was enough for him to make a move.
The Clippers have been making plenty of moves this offseason, trading for Lance Stephenson and now landing Pierce. Now they just have to sort out the DeAndre Jordan situation, who is talking to teams and may bolt from Los Angeles during free agency.
It’s obvious the Clippers are trying to strengthen their core and make a bigger push in the playoffs, after being eliminated by the Houston Rockets this past season.
