Our Favorite Allen Iverson Moments

ivrs

Yesterday afternoon, Allen Iverson formally announced his retirement from the game of basketball at the age of 38 years old. Throughout his illustrious 14 years in the NBA, Iverson brought good and bad to the league, from the public opinion. The good was ushering in a new style of NBA play for (youths like ourselves at the times), taking the play of iso-motion to an entirely new level.

While it hampered the game for nearly 7 years before itreturned back to traditional team ball; we enjoyed the showcasing of the elite players in the league like AI, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter and Jerry Stackhouse (to name a few). Much like his fellow previous 76er idol Dr. J, AI brought cornrows to the league; bridging the gap between Rap and Hip-Hop (initially started by Michigan’s Fab-Five).

Iverson’s career was at its greatest peak during the late 90s and early 2000s, where he won two scoring titles and MVP season and finishes 19th all-time in among NBA scoring leaders with 24,368 points. We were privileged to witness the greatness of Iveron’s career on the court, and we decided to pay homage to one of the greatest ball players of all time following his retirement press conference yesterday.

After the jump, you can view our favorite moments from the career of The Answer.
