You knew shit was going to get lit for Game 3 of the NLDS between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers, but nobody expected it to be a complete offensive explosion. The Mets had that Chase Utley slide bad taste in their mouth carried over from the game before and they played like it as the series went to New York for the first time.

The Dodgers may have opened up the scoring in the 2nd inning as Yasmani Grandal brought Andre Ethier and Justin Turner with a single to right, and Carl Crawford on a throwing error, but it was a complete takeover for the Mets throughout the following two innings.

In the bottom of the second, with the score at 3-1 after Travis d’Arnaud brought Yoenis Cespedes with a single to center, bases were loaded with Curtis Granderson at the plate. He launched a deep ball to center field, hitting the ball and clearing the bases as he advanced to second base. That put the score 4-3 and gave the Mets their first lead of the game.

d’Arnaud then hit a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning.

On Céspedes next at-bat, he took it out of the park to left field, bringing David Wright and Daniel Murphy for a 3-run blast. And believe us when we say he crushed it. It was 10-3 at that point.

The Dodgers had a few homers after that, but the Mets kept scoring in the later innings as well.

If the Tejada injury lit the fire from up under the Mets’ ass, the Dodgers better be careful because they are determined to pound Los Angeles to the ground after the controversial slide last game. Their #WinForRuben campaign was very emotional and being at home carried this game.

Clayton Kershaw will be pitching for the Dodgers in Game 4, but L.A. will be playing a do-or-die matchup on the road with the momentum on the Mets side.

Game 4 of the NLDS will be played tomorrow at 8:07PM ET on TBS.
