Andrew Luck & Colts start 2014 season 0-2

Week two Monday Night Football action kicked off with the biggest match-up of the month, featuring the Indianapolis Colts hosting the Philadelphia Eagles. Andrew Luck and company were looking to avoid a 0-2 start, while Chip Kelly and his high-powered Eagles offense wanted to avoid the same outcome of last weekend of playing from behind an entire game. The game initially opened with a quick Eagles red zone drive, but they had to settle for a FG. This gave the Colts confidence heading forward, with Andrew Luck immediately answering back in a touchdown pass to Ahmad Bradshaw – followed by another FG from Adam Vinatieri.

Throughout the first half, Indianapolis defense essentially had the Nick Foles and Chip Kelly’s offensive schemes on lock. The Colts run game tandem of Ahmad Bradshaw and Trent Richardson gave Andrew Luck some relief in passing, to spread their effective offense in the first half. Philadelphia would soon make adjustments in the 2nd half starting the third quarter to overcome a 14-point deficit. LeSean McCoy finally came alive to give Nick Foles a balance in their offense for Chip Kelly to make proper play calling.

A few turnovers and INTs from Andrew Luck in the later stages of the game would soon allow the Eagles to overcome 10 points in the last three minutes of the game. Chuck Pagano would try to ice kicker Cody Parkey on a 36-yard attempt, but the game would soon be over on the second attempt. Luckily for the Colts, they play a fellow win-less team this weekend in a road game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Philadelphia heads back home for a division rivalry match-up against the RG3-less Washington Redskins, for an inevitable 3-0 start for 2014.
