NBA Offers Isaiah Austin Career Job

2014 NBA Draft
The NBA really cares in promising Isaiah Austin future career with league job.

Last month, Baylor standout center Isaiah Austin learned the fate of his basketball career would sadly come to an end, after finding out he had been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome. The genetic disorder which affects body connective tissues leading to heart rupturing, was the scare of Austin’s medical team just days before the NBA Draft.

He would eventually have to end his career before taking the collegiate to professional jump, but recently appointed NBA commissioner Adam Silver still wanted Isaiah incorporated into the big night. During the first round, Silver took time to personally draft Austin to the NBA, in one of the league’s classier moves to date.

Earlier, Austin was officially been offered a job by the commissioner, with a special stipulation required. Next month, Isaiah will be returning to Baylor, where he plans to finish his degree upon league request. Whether coaching or an executive job is in the 20-year-old’s future remains to be seen, Silver is keeping his word with drafting the former Big 12 star.
