Monta Ellis Agrees to $44M Deal with Indiana Pacers

Dallas Mavericks v Philadelphia 76ers

Back in the thick of the playoff hunt

Monta Ellis was on a one way ticket out of Dallas this offseason and it seems like he has found a good landing spot. Out in Indiana to team up with Paul George and the Pacers. Only one day removed from the start of free agency, the guard has agreed to a $44 million dollar deal with the squad, over four years (with a player option in the last year).

The Pacers were close to making the playoffs last year in the weak Eastern Conference, even after George’s tragic injury last summer, which sidelined him for most of the year. They have been looking for a second go-to scorer since Lance Stephenson left to the New Orleans Hornets and hope Ellis can be that spark in the backcourt.

Indiana still needs to address their need at forward without David West, but you know Larry Bird has something up his sleeve and it won’t be the end of the moves for the Pacers.
