Mike Woodson Fired As New York Knicks Head Coach

Breaking news out of New York City this morning, as it is being reported that the New York Knicks have fired head coach Mike Woodson. This was a long-expected move, after Woodson failed to take the Knicks to the playoffs this year. With Phil Jackson now in charge of the organization, he will look to place his own guy at the helm of the team.

The list of possible candidates will be rather long, and you can fully expect Phil to take his team making a decision. Some possible replacement names could include Byron Scott, Mark Jackson (if he is fired from Golden State), and Steve Kerr. Kerr is thought to be the favorite for the job at this moment. Once a coach is selected, the Knicks then must have to figure out what they will do with Carmelo Anthony, and figure out if they can bring him back.

More after the jump.
