Fuck Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, Watch this Fight Saturday!

Before the Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez bout goes down this Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada, the WBC has done something major to their upcoming event. Due to Cotto refusing to pay WBC’s $300,000 sanction fee (greed), he’s been stripped of the Lineal Title. He first won the belt summer 2014 against Sergio Martínez, however, he still gets to keep The Ring title for a defense this weekend.

Alverez will still have a chance to win the belt, as the WBC is still ensuring his shot; but if Cotto wins, WBC interim titleholder Gennady Golovkin will be elevated to full WBC titlist.

Originally, Miguel planned to pay a six figure fee alongside Roc Nation paying $25,000 for promoters fee, but the parties felt $300K was little too steep. Keep in mind that the big Floyd Mayweather payouts aren’t included this time around for either fighter.

While the WBC is trying to save face announcing this outrageous title strip, we’re sure Al Haymon and Money are keeping a close eye on the outcome of this fight, for potential PBC rematches.
