Marshawn Lynch Planning Seahawks Holdout

You may want to hold off on drafting BEAST MODE. . . for now.

Thursday night during a segment on NFL Network’s Inside Training Camp, former Seattle Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson revealed Marshawn Lynch may have a hold out during training camp. Jordan Babinaeux, who played with Lynch in past seasons, revealed the 28-year-old running back was also considering retirement in June.

Helping lead the team to a victory at Super Bowl Champion XLVIII last February and three consecutive Pro Bowl selections, Lynch is currently looking to restructure his contract that pays him $10.5 million over the next two seasons. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported the team has no plans of restructuring his contract, which may be a legit sign of retirement rumors being real.

By the age of 30, running backs normally see their production on the field decrease significantly compared to previous years; which Lynch may want to get his final big pay day after being the face of the franchise the last 4 seasons.

Now former teammate Sidney Rice announced his retirement Wednesday at the age of 27, with concussions and injuries being his fate. With veterans now potentially sailing off into the sun, the league’s first dynasty since the Patriots could soon be seeing a few road blocks.
