Earlier this morning, the sports world got the tragic news in the passing of the greatest owner in the history of sports, Jerry Buss. Buss had been battling cancer since last year which was held privately by the entire Lakers organization as he passed away from kidney failure today. NBA.com has put together a montage of his history as the Lakers owner from making his first move ever as drafting Magic Johnson and appointing Jerry West as the team’s general manager winning 8 titles in 20 years.
In the clip above, his closest friends and family from the likes of Jeannie Buss, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Phil Jackson, David Stern and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar all chime in their admiration for Buss’s contributions to not on the NBA but as well as all of sports.
