LeBron James Finally Breaks Silence on Cavaliers & Tristan Thompson Contract Dispute

This didn’t take long, huh?

Two weeks ago, reports surfaced that Tristan Thompson had finally ending their summer-long contract rift, through Chris Broussard’s sources. Unfortunately, the Cleveland Cavaliers immediately shot down those rumors and said they hadn’t been in contact with their rebounding machine.

Thompson’s agent, Rich Paul, who also represents teammate LeBron James is looking to land his client a 5-year, $94 million deal. However, under current cap restrictions, the team remains $14 million off in current contract negotiations. Last week, his free agency deadline passed to sign a one-year qualifying offer reportedly worth just shy of $7 million for the upcoming season, as the team has removed most of his likeness from their arena and online shopping store this weekend. As the team prepares for their upcoming season without Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert for the first few weeks, LeBron finally voiced support for his teammate in an Instagram post below.

While The King and team owner Dan Gilbert’s relationship hasn’t been the same since the infamous letter, Mr. James has pulled his first public power move to ensure he has the team he wants surrounded around him for a title run. Take a look at LeBron’s brief statement below.

Get it done!!!! Straight up. #MissMyBrother @realtristan13
