Clap for him

When it’s all said and done, Kobe Bryant will go down in the Hall of Fame as one of the greatest to have ever played the game. Tuesday night, he reached an achievement only four other players in history have: scoring 32,000 points. Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone and Michael Jordan have reached such a landmark feat in their careers.

Today’s milestone puts Bryant just one step closer to passing up Jordan as third on the all-time list. He only needs a little less than 300 points to accomplish it.

How did he hit his 32,000th point? Only on a fade away jumper, and one.

Considering he only has a cast of Jeremy Lin, Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill in his corner, it’s safe to say Kobe will continue taking a bulk of the shots this season on his quest to pass MJ. He is currently averaging 27.3 points a game so at that pace, he might set the record in 11 games. He’s been compared to Jordan throughout most of his career and we’re sure he’s ready to be better than him in at least category — before he gets hurt again (God forbid).

It should be noted that the Los Angeles Lakers also got their second win of the season, defeating the Atlanta Hawks on the road 114-109.
