Over the last few months, there have been ramblings that Carmelo Anthony might be California dreaming to join Kobe in Los Angeles and his favorite coach Mike D’antoni. While Melo’s remained adamant on revealing his summer free agency plans, he’s been throwing out the idea of wanting to test the market in June.

Sunday afternoon before the Los Angeles Lakers MSG meeting against the Knickerbockers of NY, Kobe Braynt briefly addressed the media regarding his stance on a potential Melo recruitment. The Mamba opened up saying, “New York’s a beautiful place, but it’s cold as shit here. Palm trees and beaches are little more appealing,” which we completely agree with.

He went on to discuss offering advice to the small forward this summer; but much like Dwight Howard situation last year, Kobe is not going out of his way to seek a player for the purple and gold. We’re sure the recent trade of Loul Deng and tons of cap-room to pair up with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah has been running through the head of Anthony’s these last few weeks.

Whether he decides to give the Knicks time until their salary cap is clear next summer remains to be seen; but you can check after the jump to hear Kobe’s thoughts on the Melo situation.
