Get well soon Klay!

After watching the crushing blow to the side of his neck from Trevor Ariza and obvious bleeding from his ear, doctors have no ruled that Klay Thompson did suffer a concussion during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. The hit came in the fourth quarter and temporarily took him out of the game, although he did return to action shortly after.

Klay’s dad, Mychal Thompson, revealed after the game that his son was woozy and threw up several times on the way home after the win on Wednesday, even though he was cleared by doctors to return to the court. He is currently recovering at home and cannot participate in any basketball related activities for the time being.

The Warriors have now issued a statement concerning Thompson’s status.

“Following extensive examinations over the last two days — including neurological tests earlier Friday morning — Warriors guard Klay Thompson has been diagnosed with a concussion. He will not return to the court until he is symptom-free and cleared under the NBA’s concussion protocol guidelines. He will be evaluated daily and there is no timetable for his return.”

The first game of the NBA Finals starts this upcoming Thursday (June 4) and it seems like half of the Splash Brothers may be missing in action if he doesn’t pass the NBA concussion protocol in time. This would a huge game changer for the series, seeing as to how he is one of the most important pieces of the Warriors squad and has been throughout the season and playoffs.
