After undergoing surgery yesterday to repair the fracture, the 26-year-old swing-forward gave his first public press conference following the announcement.

Throughout the sit-down, he remained optimistic heading forward, saying the injury will only help his teammates further their game to be prepared for the post-season in 6 month, The likes os Steven Adams, Anthony Morrow and Reggie Jackson will get their feet wet with extended playing time for the first 6 weeks of action.

Durant reiterated he isn’t in a rush and we’re sure the Oklahoma City Thunder fans are thinking long-term as well. With virtually every top tier team in the Western Conference making off-season moves with the exception of this team, we’re sure Kevin’s extended vacation will be noticed in the playoffs when he was more than usual energy.
