Could KD really be on the verge of becoming a Laker?
As Kobe Bryant readies for his possibly final season with the Los Angeles Lakers, the heir to throne will be up in the air if The Black Mamba does decide to finally exit. The Buss family will have some money to spend during summer free agency in June, as many players shied away from joining the second biggest NBA franchise of all time. However, one surprise name now in the mix is Kevin Durant, who’s been privately telling his peers that Los Angeles is preferred destination if he decides to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder after this season.
It was previously rumored that Durant would have his eyes on returning home to Washington and join John Wall with the Wizards or even taking his talents to South Beach with Pat Riley. Now with the Lakers looking towards a new post-Kobe era with D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle; the purple and gold will be a destination once one superstar decides to take a gamble.
UPDATE 1: KD tells Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman the rumors are lies.
Kevin Durant on the Lakers rumors: "I don't talk to Stephen A Smith at all. No one in my family, my friends do. So he's lying."
