Irsay joins Bill Belichick’s spy gate of 2007 to tie for fourth highest NFL fine ever.

Indianapolis Colts owner and CEO, Jim Irsay broke his sobriety of nearly a decade (allegedly) with being arrested for DUI suspicion and drug possession last March. Earlier today, he pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count operation a vehicle under the influence. Although he won’t serve any jail time of his previous 60-day sentence (reduced to two), Jim’s under strict probation for the next 365 days beginning September 3rd, and an additional 90 days added to previously suspended driver’s license.

Commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL took nearly five months to give Irsay punishment; but handed him a steep $500K fine and suspended him 6 games from attending Indianapolis Colts games and NFL owners meetings.

Jim will be eligible to return to his team’s active duties on October 9th when his Colts play a huge AFC South rivalry game against the Houston Texans.
