Hulk Hogan’s Leaked 1998 WCW Contract is Unbelievable

Hulkster was getting paid son!

During the late 1990s and the greatest years of professional wrestling, World Championship Wrestling was very close to ending Vince McMahon’s business, World Wrestling Federation.

Highlighted by various top names in the business jumping ship like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, and Scott Hall, the small-time Atlanta company was soon in the mainstream making nearly half a billion in revenue during its peak years of 1997 and 1998.

While egos and backstage politics played a huge part in the company’s downfall, as well as the AOL-Time Warner merger forcing the company to go PG, Hulk Hogan was at the forefront of making sure he was setting himself up for life with an unreal contract.

We’re assuming Eric Bischoff just gave Hogan a blank check to fill in for an annual salary after the company blew up, because some of these guarantees are flat out ridiculous.

Take a look at some of the jaw-dropping requirements he had during his run in Georgia.

– base salary of $20,000 monthly (exceeding $240,000 yearly)
– $2,000,000 bonus for signing the contract
– 15% of all pay-per-view sales or a minimum of $675,000
– 25% of all ticket revenues for any Nitro/Thunder or a minimum of $25,000
– 50% of profits from any of his merchandise
– complete booking control of any outcomes in his matches
