ESPN To Air First NFL Playoff Game In 2015

Network set to televise its first eve NFL playoff game.

It’s hard to believe in the 35 years ESPN has been on the air, that they’ve never aired a NFL Playoff game. Today, it was announced the Disney-owned channel would be airing their first ever NFL playoff game set for next year’s Wild Card Playoff Weekend. Not too far removed from the 8-year Monday Night Football extension NFL and ESPN reached to extend to the 2021 season, next January will be a test run of to potentially influence more deals on both sides heading forward.

Along with Wild Card Weekend, the annual NFL Pro Bowl will also be airing on the network as part of a new company rights agreement next January.
