Goodbye Emmit Smith and Terrell Owens

It’s been a while since the Dallas Cowboys had a franchise record broken but it looks like the future of the organization has finally arrived and made their impact.

2014 Pro-Bowl selections DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant both set single season records for their respective positions, with Murray breaking the single season record for rushing yards (1,845) and Bryant setting the record for most touchdowns (16) through 16 games. Emmitt Smith and Terrell Owens were the previous record holders, with the rushing record dating back to 1995.

The crazy part is, they did it on back-to-back plays.

The Cowboys effectively finished the season 12-4 and will now face the Detroit Lions in one of the NFC Wild Card rounds.
