defense turning into offense
Only a few days after Carmelo Anthony was hitting game-winning jumpers at Madison Square Garden against the Washington Wizards, the New York Knicks were facing the Toronto Raptors at Bell Centre in Montreal, and it wasn’t looking good for them on a few plays.
Running in transition, DeMar DeRozan dunked a few uncontested baskets with authority and the Knicks defense was caught looking. On one play, a steal turned into an outlet, then bounce pass right into the hands of DeRozan, who had a clear lane and went all the way to the hoop for the slam. ‘Melo was caught slipping and couldn’t stop it.
The Raptors went on to beat the Knicks 83-80 and DeRozan led the Raptors in scoring with 15 points.
