New York gears up for the AL Wildcard without starting pitcher
Former MLB Cy Young Award and future Hall-of-Famer, CC Sabathia, is unfortunately going through serious personal issues. With his New York Yankees set to begin their fall post-season run against the Houston Astros, he’ll have to sit out their entire October run – due to issues with alcoholism.
In comparison to other athletes and stars around the world, Sabathia has voluntarily checked himself into rehab, with no known off-the-field issues and distractions that have gotten him into trouble. While it appears that CC never had issues, the former face of the pinstrippers will receive proper help at an unknown alcohol rehabilitation center. During recent seasons, he’s struggled with weight and degenerated knee issues, which has also translated to poor play on the diamond.
We have to commend the Yankees organization for thinking about the future of their player past his MLB career, in the midst of struggling before the playoffs.
