Brock Lesnar Retires From MMA, Resigns With WWE

Lesnar closes the door for a UFC return

With WrestleMania 31 only four days away, Brock Lesnar finally gave fans of WWE & UFC clarity regarding his future in either the squared circle or the octagon. For the last year, the 37-year-old has been debating whether or not to re-join UFC since leaving the company in 2011, after a heavyweight title loss to Alistair Overeem (later revealed that he used steroids). WWE fans had some anxiety that the current world champion could be leaving the company after his match with Roman Reigns in San Francisco this Sunday.

Tuesday night, the former Division I All-American formally announced on ESPN that he would be staying with the WWE long-term and retiring from UFC and the sport of MMA – effective immediately. His previous contract was set to expire coincidentally two hours after the conclusion of WrestleMania, but Vince McMahon and the beast had a meeting last night, which Brock revealed an offer was made that he couldn’t refuse. Watch the wrestling legend detail what led to him ultimately deciding to stay with the WWE this time in the clip above.
