Alex Rodriguez ties Willie Mays with 660th Career HR

The Yankee star moves into 4th place among all-time HR hitters!

Saturday night, the New York Yankees were north for game-one of their first road series against rival, the Boston Redsox. Winning 10 of their last 13 games, the streaking pin-strippers were looking to keep their surprising lead in the AL East. With the entire contributing on a daily basis, Alex Rodriguez has been the one surprise of the season. Leading the team in RBIs and HRs, the 39-year-old slugger had the night off – initially.

During the top of the 8th inning, A-Rod would pinch hit for Garrett Jones and score the game winning homer off Junichi Tazawa. The ball was crushed nearly 400 feet and passed the green monster, as Rodriguez joined the 660 club, tying legendary Willie Mays for fourth all-time on the MLB’s home-run list.
