A Masked Russell Westbrook Hits Career High’s In Win Over 76ers

Westbrook for MVP

Only one game removed from having surgery to repair a fractured bone in his right cheek, Russell Westbrook was back on the court to continue playing like a madman. At the moment the All-Star game MVP is playing like a man possessed, racking up triple-doubles like light work. On Wednesday night, he achieved his fourth consecutive, tying with Michael Jordan as the only players ever to reach such heights. Jordan’s record dated all the way back to 1989.

Rocking that clear mask, Westbrook ended the game with a career-high 49 points and 16 rebounds, while dishing out 10 assists. He was relentless and showed no fear.

One of the highlights of the night was him taking the dribble coast-to-coast on an in-bounds play, blazing through the Philadelphia 76ers defense and managing to hammer down a two-handed dunk. It was 0-100 with the NOS full throttle for Russ.

The Sixers still managed to stay in the game while Westbrook kept lighting it up, but there wasn’t enough in the tank to go toe-to-toe with him past regulation.
