RZA is full of ideas

Besides the fact that Wu-Tang Clan is selling one copy of The Wu — Once Upon a Time In Shaolin to its highest bidder, they also have a special plan for A Better Tomorrow. The clan has partnered with speaker company Boombotix to release a limited edition Wu speaker, which includes eight songs from the album and a limited edition bonus track.

The project took about 18 months to execute and will be available for purchase in limited quantities (1,000 speakers going for $79.99 will be sold on the Boombotix, while 2,000 of them will be sold at Zumiez), right in time for the holiday season to arrive.

“There’s something transcendent about being able to physically hold music,” says RZA. “Back in the day, holding a vinyl helped you appreciate just how much time and sweat goes into creating a single track, let alone an entire album. Over the last decade, we’ve lost that sensation. With this project, we hope to strengthen the bond between fan and artist. Boombotix puts the music back in your hands so you can stay connected to your favorite artists wherever you go.” – RZA

What do you think of this idea to sell part of the next Wu album in this fashion? You can pre-order the speaker right now.
