Whether real or not, the only thing anyone has been talking about coming out of the MTV VMA’s (certainly overshadowing the entire awards show) is Kanye West‘s “bid” for president in 2020. It was shocking news to cap off the 12-minute speech while accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. It sent shock waves through social media, with plenty of memes appearing shortly after.
Now only two days later, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest has responded to the news with a short statement while traveling on Air Force One with President Obama to Alaska. Of the announcement, he says he looks “forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat.”
If Donald Trump can throw his hat in the ring, so can Yeezus, right?
