A few weeks ago, our comrades of both URLTV and HipHop DX held an event during Atlanta’s annual A3C Hip Hop Festival. It’s been nearly a month since we’ve seen a battle, but with things heating up outside for the spring soon, we can get ready for a full implosion of verbal warfare clips to surface consistently now. In the latest from URL, Yonkers native John John Da Don steps into the battle ring for a match-up against NY-B and Brooklyn representative Cortez.
After you watch the battle below, look for season 2 of Ultimate Freestyle Friday with Smack White and Bow Wow to air tonight during 106 & Park at 6pm ET/PT. Also stay tuned for information leading up N.O.M.E. IV expected to surface very shortly.

BET’s “106 & PARK” has once again teamed up with Rap Icon SMACK and the Ultimate Rap League (URL) for another season of Ultimate Freestyle Friday (UFF) battle competition. As the world’s largest and most respected platform for battle rap, BET Networks and “106 & PARK” has adopted the URL battle format bringing the popular online brand to network television. Hosted by Smack and Bow Wow, 106’s latest freestyle battle premieres thisFriday, March 28, 2014 at 6 pm/ET establishing Ultimate Freestyle Friday as the home true battle rap and hip-hop for fans across the globe. This season’s celebrity DJ’s and respected emcees Mobb Deep, Kid Capri, The L.O.X., Papoose, Saigon, Superstar Jay, Smif-N-Wessun, DJ Self, Shaheem Reid and Jahlil Beats will judge the 7 week competition.
Over the course of the 7-week period, eight emcees will compete for the coveted season two Ultimate Freestyle-Friday Champion title. The season culminates with season one champion Ill Will going head-to-head with this season’s winner in the infamous 106 Backroom for the $5,000 grand prize.
