Reps For Missy Elliot & Timbaland Confirm Pair Not Involved With New Aaliyah Album

Contrary to previous reports of Timbaland and Missy Elliott’s involvement in the upcoming oVoXo posthumous Aaliyah album, reps for the two have now confirmed they will not be participating with Drake and 40 for the singers upcoming album.

“Although Missy and Timbaland always strive to keep the memory of their close friend alive, we have not been contacted about the project nor are there any plans at this time to participate,” Mona Scott-Young, longtime manager for Missy Elliott, says. “We’ve seen the reports surfacing that they have been confirmed to participate but that is not the case. Both Missy and Timbaland are very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family so we wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated.”

This comes just days after Aaliyah’s cousin and CEO of Blackground Records, Jomo Hankerson clairified rumors and confirmed Missy and Timbo’s involvement for the album. Last week Drake stated “people ‘essential’ to Aaliyah’s career were welcomed to have involvement with the late singers new album”; but now it seems highly unlikely both camps will be joining together for this upcoming album.
