OS Flashback: DJ Screw – Tops Drop (feat. Fat Pat)

Today marks the twelve year anniversary in the passing of Robert Earl Davis or who the music an hip-hop community know as DJ Screw. We thought it was only right today to show love to the city of PURPLE one time with taking us back to the classic from Fat Pat (RIP) classic “Tops Drop.” During his time with us in the 90s and 2000, he delivered hundreds of mixtapes becoming one of the first major DJ’s from the south to have recognition for a series of mixtapes that were slowed.

Screw’s legacy only became larger after his passing with the fellow Houston rapper Z-Ro, Trae, Slim Thug, Lil’ Flip, Chamillionaire, and Paul Wall gaining national fame with the A$AP Mob paying homage and furthering his legacy worldwide in 2011 as we see tons of new artist we enjoy today influenced heavily by DJ Screw. We hope you enjoy these visuals done DJ Chops-A-Lot with Screw mixing up this gem.

R.I.P. to the “Originator” DJ Screw.
