This past week, NBA2K released the official soundtrack for 2K14 with LeBron James serving as executive producer for the music in the video game. After we looked at the soundtrack tracklist and listened, it was clear LeBron didn’t know what he was doing.
He kind of did his thing, but we couldn’t help but to think that we could have done a better job with our eyes closed. No shots to Coldplay, Gorillaz or the unsigned artists on there, but these aren’t songs you can play while a basketball game is on (inside or outside). We appreciate appearances from Big K.R.I.T., Kendrick Lamar and Jadakiss and actually don’t mind him picking some of this year’s Summer smashes.
NBA2K has always been a good judge of tracks, old and new, and they’ve really been slipping musically the past few. But that’s why we’re here. We put a good mix of indie tracks, recent rap shit and classic songs from some of your favorite artists.
Seriously, NBA2K, holla at us.
