The historic run between Mac Miller and Rostrum Records has come to an end. The Pittsburgh MC has decided to move on from the independent label going forward after his original contract expired, leaving after a four year run.

Mac Miller was first signed right before the release of his critically acclaimed mixtape K.I.D.S. and continued to soar up the Hip-Hop charts and gain a cult audience in the years following, with the release of Blue Slide Park and Watching Movies With The Sound Off. Even though the two have parted ways, he still considers the label a family.

Details about where Mac will be headed next have not been revealed at this time, but we’ll keep you updated on any further information as it surfaces. Read Mac’s entire statement to MTV News below.

“”Rostrum is my family. That is forever. No matter what, we will always work together. We moved mountains and I can only see them continuing that tradition. I am grateful for everything I learned and am always here for whatever.”
