Three years ago, we were first introduced to Flatbush rapper Joey Bada$$ through his first mixtape, 1999. While some have touted the now 20-year-old as the chosen one, we knew at the time he would gain critical-acclaim alongside Pro-ERA on lyric content alone. Today, he celebrates the official major debut opus release of his B4.DA.$$ (Before Da Money) album. Along with feature help from Kirk Knight (also producer) and Chuck Strangers or Pro-Era, BJ the Chicago Kid, Action Bronson, Elle Varner and Raury – the 15-track effort has production from J. Dilla, The Roots, Hit-Boy, Statik Selektah, DJ Premier, Chuck Strangers and Freddie Joachim.
