Bad news out of California today as it is being reported that Young Jeezy was arrested for possession of an assault rifle. TMZ reports that the weapon turned up during the investigation into the fatal shooting that happened at the end of Wiz Khalifa’s concert in Moutain View, CA on Friday night.

The Irvine Police Department executed a search warrant of Jeezy’s tour bus and found the assault rifle in which they believe belongs to the Atlanta rapper. Along with Jeezy being arrested, several members of his entourage were also taken into custody for gun possession. While in custody, Jeezy is currently being held on $1 million bail and is set to see a judge on Tuesday, one week before his album Seen It All: The Autobiography is due to release.

UPDATE: 1 According to Billboard, Young Jeezy has pleaded not guilty to illegal assault weapons possession. Police have not yet arrested anyone in connection to the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA shooting.

UPDATE: 2 MTV reports Jeezy and his associates have officially posted bail after spending days behind bars and have been released. His next court date is set for September 5th.

UPDATE: 3 As of December 11, the gun charges against Young Jeezy have been dropped as well as those five members of his entourage that were wrongfully arrested back on August 24 in Orange County. Below you can read official statements from Jeezy and his legal counsel, Blair Berk.

“I pray this had nothing to do with race but it definitely had nothing to do with evidence. Words cannot express how vindicated I feel with these charges being dismissed today,” states Jay Jenkins (aka Jeezy). “While my team and I always knew that the allegations and charges were based on zero facts, the rush to judgment by both the media and the police has been extremely disappointing. I’m relieved that the truth has ultimately prevailed and I would like to thank those who have always stood by me including my family and fans.” – Jeezy

“Mr. Jenkins should not have been arrested and this case should not have been prosecuted. We are pleased it has been dismissed, although frustrated that it took the police and prosecutors months to do the right thing.” – Blair Berk
