Since the release of his critically-acclaimed INNANETAPE mixtape in 2013, Vic Mensa has been building the foundation of his early career with the help of fellow Chicago musicians Kanye West and Chance the Rapper. The 21-year-old is still readying his Street Lights EP, set to drop in the coming months, but will now have the ultimate backing behind him in the industry. JAY Z, who doesn’t partake in social media only a monthly basis, unveiled to the world moments ago that the rising rapper has officially joined Roc Nation Records.
While he’s set to have a notable role on Yeezy’s upcoming So Help Me God LP, Vic is fresh from performing at Coachella and is set to headline upcoming both Wireless and The Governors Ball Festivals this summer. He now joins the likes Rihanna, J. Cole, and DJ Mustard as the newest solo artist of Shawn Carter’s empire.
