Another New CEO will be taking his talents to Tidal in 2016

Remember over the summer, when TIDAL lost its second CEO, after just three months of its public inception? Well, according to The Wall Street Journal, rapper-mogul JAY Z has hired another chief to run his music streaming service beginning January 2016, as Jeff Toig, former chief business officer of SoundCloud will be making a jump. It remains seen whether this third time will be a charm, but Jigga believes Toig is the right person to increase the number of subscriptions for the lossless high-quality sound service next year – beyond its fall celebration of a million.

Since firing Peter Tonstad last June, the company had been without a CEO since, as Mr. Carter will begin the rollover on January 4th. With fierce competition from Apple, Spotify, Pandora, Google Play and now YouTube Red, Shawn Carter is rumored to have various exclusive album premieres from Rihanna and Beyoncé in the future. Whether that is enough to tap into the crowded market of streaming giants remains to be seen, but his exclusive content of original programing, live concerts and of course music will not go unnoticed by the general public.
