GZA’s “Liquid Swords” Goes Platinum After 20 Years

Wu-Tang Are Still Reaping Rewards

After 20 years, GZA‘s second album Liquid Swords has been certified platinum, after hitting one million copies as of September 15th. The news was revealed this week by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The solo album was released on November 7th, 1995 on Geffen Records, and has gone on to become one of the most acclaimed albums in not only Wu-Tang Clan history, but hip-hop overall. Wu-Tang’s last album to go platinum was Ghostface Killah’s Ironman in 2004, following its initial release in 1996.
