The day every rapper builds their career to witness has come for Far Rockaway, Queens rapper Chinx Drugz. But unfortunately, he’s no longer with us to cherish the moment and celebrate this day, after being shot and killed in his hometown earlier this year. In previous years, Chinx had been building a buzz for himself after linking with fellow New York rapper, French Montana. From there, Chinx would release multiple mixtapes, most notably his Cocaine Riot series, all of which featured standout singles including, “I’m a Coke Boy,” “Right There” and “Couple Niggas.”
In 2014, his buzz started to grow even more, thanks to the popular I’ll Take It From Here EP standout “Feelings” with French Montana. CR5 was just the start of the big year Chinx was poised to have, with the single “Dope House” with Jadakiss, starting to take off and gain him even more recognition. Over these past couple of years, Chinx grew from the “dirty ass Far Rock ni**a” to an artist with much potential, who was more than capable enough to carry the torch for his fallen Riot Squad brother Stack Bundles.
Arriving sooner than planned, Chinx’s debut album, Welcome To JFK has officially been released today, and it is fit with 12 new songs, including the current radio single “On Your Body” and “YAY.” The album draws guest appearances from the likes of French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign, Nipsey Hu$$le, Zack, Jeremih, Meet Sims and Lil Durk. With producers like, Blickie Blaze, Remo The Hitmaker, Lee On The Beats and others behind the boards.
