Cat Power and Coldplay may sound like a strange collaboration, but anything can happen when it comes to a Zach Braff soundtrack. The film’s title track “Wish I Was Here” was put together by Chris Martin after watching the movie, who decided that the song should be sung by a woman. Braff and Martin came to a decision on Cat Power, who was down for the cause after thoroughly enjoying the movie. The vocals were recorded by Power at New York City’s Electric Lady studios, and relate to the the persona of Kate Hudson’s character in the actual film. Wish I Was Here will be released on July 18th, with the soundtrack available on July 15th.
