Late last night, Sha Money XL revealed to the world that rising Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda had officially landed a deal with Epic Records. This should come as no surprise, as the Flatbush up and comer has become one of NYC’s hottest in the streets, after his “Hot Nigga” music video went viral with over 2 million views and counting. GS9 affiliate Rowdy Rebbel’s “Shmoney Dance” also generated a buzz through a slew of Vine dance-offs and Instagram clips that caught fire online.
Following an official shout out from both Beyonce and JAY Z on stage during their On The Run Tour last week and even Drake bringing national recognition at the ESPY’s a few days ago, the bidding war among labels ended. In the past, Sha Money’s been known for playing an instrumental role in the careers of 2 Chainz and 50 Cent, which we expect to continue with Bobby Shmurda.
Now backed by the proper people and guidance, the GS9 representative is set to work with the likes of Yo Gotti, DJ Mustard and French Montana for his upcoming Jahlil Beats-produced “Hot Nigga (Remix)” set to be released in the coming days.
