Big Sean Didn’t Diss Kendrick Lamar on “Me, Myself & I”

Stop reaching, Internet

Immediately following the release of “Me, Myself & I” earlier this week, Twitter and the rest of the trolls that follow were speculating that Big Sean was dissing Kendrick Lamar during certain bars in the middle of the freestyle. The lines in question talked about album skits and rappers being praised the like saviors of the genre.

Y’all braggin’ about so and so, like “Oh, he really it?
The new nigga in rap? Well, can he really spit?”
Or do he just hide behind his skits like half of these rappers do
And then y’all fucking go and praise him and his bitch like they savior of this shit

In talking to MTV on a private jet on the day of Dark Sky Paradise album release, Sean Don opened up about those specific lines, saying it was more of a vague statement not meant towards a specific artist. He said it’s more about how the people perceive certain things and how folks focus more on the drama rather than what’s important: the music.
