RIP A$AP YAMS!

Following a premature leak for A$AP Rocky’s official At. Long. Last. A$AP. album, we were hesitant on the news being legit. This month, the Harlem rapper-mogul is featured on Billboard Magazine and explains why he’s hip-hop’s Renaissance man. Through fashion, music, acting and everything imaginable under the A$AP umbrella, the 26-year-old superstar has revealed his highly-anticipated sophomore A.L.L.A. album will be releasing this May 12. With Juicy J, Danger Mouse and unfortunately deceased A$AP Yams providing help for executive producing roles, we’re now just awaiting for the official track listing to surface for one of spring’s most anticipated albums.

When A$AP Yams, aka Steven Rodriguez, died in January of an accidental drug overdose, the entire A$AP crew was obviously devastated. Rocky was particularly shaken up, as Yams was the seasoned hip-hop veteran who’d groomed him since he was just out of his teenage years. At the time of his Billboard interview, Rocky had been logging nightly studio sessions, trying to finish an album his mentor conceived before his death. “He left his notebooks, he left his blueprint. His album’s f–ing -incredible. I want to finish what he started.”
