Coming to television next year
For those that didn’t know, John Legend is producing a new TV show on WGN titled Underground, which is set to debut early in 2016. The scripted series will follow the stories of plantation slaves who fought for their freedom and escaped the war through the Underground Railroad. The likes of Jussie Smollett from EMPIRE, Chris Meloni from Law & Order: SVU and Aldis Hodge from Straight Outta Compton are some of the names that are scheduled to appear on the show. Misha Green and Joe Pokaski from the series Heroes, serve as writers.
