VH1 Star Mendeecees Harris Sentenced to 8 Years for Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

I want you all to understand something. I completely accept responsibility for all that is going on. My transition to be a better person a productive person started well before this case. However in my past I made some bad decisions. Young men let my life be an example to you now before it's too late. Better who you are now in your children's lives and in society so you can change the path of your fate. Lack of opportunities, a fatherless home, the unforgiven neighborhood and circumstances you grew up in can no longer be your excuse. Trust me I tried. And it doesn't make the pain your family feels any different. Young man educate your self and break the cycle. Don't become a number on the DOA (dead on arrival) list or on the incarceration list. To my wife and children you are all strong and well prepared for this. This is just another brick laid down towards our house of happily ever after , walk with your head held high knowing I would never past the buck and put another family through what we have endured. Continue to walk in faith and love as you've done so well. To my peoples thank you for all the encouragement and support please continue to encourage my family. Thank you again all.

Stay up Yandy

Since learning he would have to be sentenced before the end of the year, Mendeecees Harris spent much time with his family throughout 2015, including a recent marriage to Yandy Smith. In 20012, the 36-year-old native of Harlem was arrested for his role in a drug trafficking distribution ring of cocaine and heroin, which ran from 2006-2009 from NYC to Rochester.

Harris soon served 15 months, before Yandy put up bail money of $200,000 in 2014 for his timed release from prison. Originally, Mendeecees was facing up to 20 years in federal time, before pleading guilty for a lesser term earlier this year.

The exact details of his case are still unclear outside of the obvious, but federal authorities allege that Harris and his brother were receiving shipments of up to five kilograms of cocaine monthly and seven kilograms of heroin during the conspiracy investigation.

While U.S. District Judge Frank Geraci Jr. acknowledge that Mendeecees was contributing to the youth around his neighborhood for fatherless children like his upbringings, he felt that a 8-year sentence was fair after his previous life of connected crimes.

With good behavior, he could be out in five to six years – which is currently being reduced during final sentences. At the moment, Harrirs remains free until the federal Bureau of Prisons tells him when it’s time to turn himself in. Take a look at his reaction to the sentencing from earlier today.
