5 Things We Didn’t Like About Lifetime’s “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B”

Our thoughts on one of 2014’s worst films

Last night, twitter took over everything due to the blasphemy of Lifetime’s original TV movie, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B. While we had initial skepticism whether the film would be a proper representation of Aaliyah, due to the network being known to at least having class – we were sadly proven wrong.

Before we get into our mini-rant, we have no problems with Wendy Williams and watch her daytime TV show often, so the movie would’ve continued with production whether she was involved or not. We’re just sad she was involved with this abomination to the culture, that left a mini stain on her posthumous legacy in the perception of those who weren’t alive to witness A’s greatness.

By the 30-minute mark, the general public had moved to twitter to publicly ridicule the project (deserving), which still remains number one on worldwide trends. That’s not because the picture was great, but how awful the entire package was presented – even tempting to tamper with her legacy. Continue to the next page and beyond to see what ruffled our feathers last night, courtesy of Lifetime and those involved in production.
