Last summer, a premature trailer for The Wire leaked revealing the cult-classic HBO series would finally be airing in HD. While the show is nearly 7 years removed from its final episode, its popularity significantly increased years after its conclusion – gaining critically acclaim. Originally shot in 480i, the updated 1080p remaster release is currently airing right now on HBO Signature through the holiday in marathon form.
Those of you who want to pick and choose what you’d like to watch, all 60 episodes are available right now on HBO GO. If you’ve never finished the series or have yet to watch, it would be in your best interest to get started right now. We’ll be reliving all of our favorite memories with Omar, Stringer Bell, Marlo, Bodie, Michael, Avon, Snoop, McNulty, and the realest of them all Wee-Bey once again for the foreseeable future.
