The Cast Of “The Wire” Reunites

Reunited and it feels so good

One of our favorite shows of all time has been off the air since 2008, but that doesn’t mean it still doesn’t live in our hearts. The Wire has touched so many and continues to be a cult phenomenon even if it never achieved the accolades during the time it was on air.

The Paley Center for Media‘s annual ultimate TV fan festival gathered a panel of the cast from the HBO series yesterday, to talk about the impact the show had and to have everyone talk about their own experiences before, during and after The Wire went off the air. It should be noted that this is the first time some of them saw each other since filming on set.

During the hour and a half long discussion with David Simon, Nina Noble, Wendell Pierce, Sonja Sohn, Michael K. Williams, Seth Gilliam, Jim True-Frost, John Doman, the actors reminisced about memorable scenes that encapsulated the show, the cultural influence certain seasons had on the community, why the show was special, and they even shared stories about the camaraderie within the cast, where they all supported each other like a family.

There are truly too many gems to point out, but Michael K. Williams did point out he hated season two of the show at first, until he got the bigger picture.

This is a must watch for all fans of The Wire.
